Born in 1982, Gaspar Martinez is a mixture of a self-taught artist with a student of great masters. Raised in a home where artists from different disciplines gathered as friends of his artist parents, he learned from an early age to appreciate and see art from the artist’s point of view. In 2001 he studied advertising and worked as a junior art director in Buenos Aires until 2007 when he travels for three months of study to London and he stays four years working and painting.

In 2012 he returns to Argentina and studies at the studios of Jorge Demirjian and Diana Aisenberg. The same year is selected for the inaugural exhibition of El Mirador gallery in Buenos Aires. In 2013, he travels to New York to take part in an artistic residency at the Contemporary Artists Centre (CAC) in Albany, NY. The same year he is selected to exhibit his work at the Nurture Art Benefit Show 2012 at the Charles Banks Gallery (NY). The US government grants him a 0-1 visa and stays to live. Two years later he has his first solo show at the Argentine Consulate in New York and in 2015 begins to be represented by Cosmocosa art gallery in Argentina, ending the year with a solo exhibition at the gallery and exhibiting his work at Cosmocosa’s booth at ArteBA art fair in Buenos Aires, sharing a space with established artists like Maccio, Noe, Benedit and Ferrari.
