EPOCH ARE A FEMALE ART COLLECTIVE LOOKING TO PROMOTE FEMINISM AND SOCIAL EQUALITY THROUGH THEIR WORK, CONTRIBUTING TO DUBLIN VISUAL CULTURE WITH BOLD, STRIKING, COLOURFUL CONTEMPORARY ART
Epoch was formed to promote female made art in Dublin. Establishing a platform to voice our ideas and collaborate was our main goal in founding the collective. We feel it’s important to have a strong female group producing art work and contributing to Dublin visual culture, and the city itself.
In grouping together, they aim to create bold, striking, colourful contemporary art that is relevant to Dublin city and beyond. They want our art to be inclusive, accessible and where applicable have a strong emphasis on our core values: feminism and social equality.
Every member has a distinct artistic style and process. There is a mixture of abstract and figurative art being created by the group. Each Epoch member has their art practice, including printmaking, painting, illustration, and graphic design, however each member is versatile, and the group can move between mediums for specific exhibitions and projects. The collective is incredibly hardworking and constantly experimenting and producing to keep their work fresh and distinct. The group is dynamic in that we all come from different places, Ireland, France and USA so every one of us has their own cultural flair, art education and practices to bring to the table.
